System for measuring targets during transfer onto a conveyor belt.

The Q-volume family of measurement systems for the food industry also includes the model T, a solution developed and made for laser control when cutting portions that allows the targets being transferred onto conveyor belts to be measured. Like the R version used for revolving targets, also the Q-volume T system comprises a central control unit equipped with a specific digital input for synchronising acquisitions of the sensors, in this case with the material sliding over the conveyor belt. The laser control system for cutting portions is able to manage up to two distinct measurement sensors. In this way, it is possible to acquire the complete geometry of the products, even in the presence of somewhat complex shapes. Q-volume T can be configured based on one’s own specific requirements, that is, based on the measurement accuracy required and also the type of target material. Thanks to this flexible and customised configuration, the Q-volume T system combines measurements obtained by sensors with different angles of sight and different orientations as regards the product movement system and minimises any blind spots that might be created depending on the asymmetries of the product and the geometries of acquisition of its profile.

The Q-volume T system is also able to determine the linear volumetric density of the measured product with configurable angular step, usually of one millimetre, and is able to transmit this information in real time to the external controllers of the cutting machine with simple interfacing protocols. Lastly, the T model allows extensive specific processing to be performed for products with predetermined characteristics for which the identification and creation of effective processing logics could entail significant development complexity. The easy installation and communication with the company IT infrastructure is another strength of the Q-volume T laser control system for cutting portions. In fact, all it needs is preparation of specific anchorages for the sensors to be positioned in proximity to the measurement area, in addition to installation of the control unit in the electric panel of the machine. To guarantee the user ultimate flexibility and adaptability to multiple installation requirements, different measurement sensors are also available.
